Scintillation Counter System

The output from the photomultiplier  is amplified and the signal fed into a discriminator. The discriminator is a circuit which is set such that only pulses in a small range of amplitude are allowed to pass. These pulses, of a selected energy range, are then fed into a ratemeter or scaler.
