Instrument Checks

It is important to check radiation instruments periodically to ensure that they are calibrated correctly, and before each use a pre-operational check  should be made which consists of the following:

  1. Check that the due date on the calibration sticker is not exceeded.
  2. Battery check-make sure that the battery is not dead.
  3. Source check-ensure the instrument indicates actual radiation fields correctly.
