The deadline for the submission of contributions to the LINAC08 Proceedings is 23:59 PDT Thursday, 25 September 2008.

This is ahead of the conference so that the papers can be processed by the editorial team and any problems can be analysed and then discussed with authors at the conference.

Authors are encouraged to submit their paper(s), via their LINAC08 SPMS Account, well before this deadline in order to avoid difficulties due to overloading of the system.

Once the paper has been prepared according to the Paper Preparation Guidelines, prepare a PostScript file.

• MS Word users should consult the JACoW guidelines for creating PostScript files.
• LaTeX users should use the -j0 option with dvips and consult the JACoW guidelines for creating PostScript files.

Check the size of the PostScript file - an average size should be less than 3 MB. PostScript files which are larger than 5 MB often cause problems and will almost certainly require modification. If the PostScript file for the paper falls into this category, please consult the JACoW recommendations for diagnosis and remedies for large files.

All files used to produce the contribution must be uploaded.

Only files named according to the paper's programme code can be uploaded via the system.

For example, for paper MOP120 the file names should be:

• MOP120.ps - the PostScript file - (uploaded as File Type: PostScript File)
• MOP120.doc - the MS Word source file - (uploaded as File Type: Source File [MS Word, Open Office or LaTeX])

  • MOP120.tex - the LaTeX source file
  • MOP120.odt - the OpenOffice.org source file
• MOP120f1.eps - EPS file for Figure 1 - (uploaded as File Type: Other Supporting Files)
• MOP120f2.tif - TIFF file for Figure 2 - (uploaded as File Type: Other Supporting Files)
• MOP120f3.jpg - JPEG file for Figure 3 - (uploaded as File Type: Other Supporting Files)
• etc.

Submit all of the source files (text and figures) needed to make the paper (be aware that large files may take some time to transfer).

Submit the PostScript file.

For each of the files that you upload, you must declare the File Type from the pull-down list, as illustrated above, and the computing platform on which it was produced.

Papers will undergo final processing by the Editorial Team from the deadline for submission, and authors can check the result via the log in their LINAC08 SPMS Account or by consulting the electronic status board at the conference.
